Baby It's Cold Outside...

Okay, it was beautiful outside, but Wow is Maine water cold!! Jessica didn't seem to mind and I had no choice, if she's going in, so am I. The initial shock of the cold water is foot, ankle and leg numbing, but once you get used to it, it isn't so bad. My parents will be up from FL next month. I doubt they will be able to handle it, Key West water is like taking a bath, 80 to 90 degree water.
I kid loves the beach - I love her!!

Bikini Baby!!

Hi Everyone,
Last Wednesday we had a great experience. While eating Dairy Queen and Pier Fries there was this wild commotion. A convoy of motorcycle police, police cars and Freedom riders on motorcycles came barreling down to the Pier. They were escorting in "The Wall." OOB had the moving Vietnam Wall for Memorial Day weekend. What an experience! I was able to see it in D.C., but it was neat to see it here in OOB. The veterans from around the area truly appreciated it too!
We had family for the weekend and enjoyed having a long weekend!! Jessica and I had our first official day at the beach on Friday. It was wonderful! I work, pay my bills and go to the beach. What more can a girl want. And how grateful I am - my daughter LOVES the beach. I've purchased several bikinis, mainly so she can let her baby belly hang out. I love teasing David about so many things, but mostly about Jessica's inherited attributes from the Baker side. She's obviously my daughter because she loves the beach, but that one picture, that's a Baker Belly if I ever saw one:-)
Anyway, Hope everyone is doing well, We miss everyone!! Our house is open and the light is always on. Come visit anytime.

Hi Everyone,
I'm using a bit of work time to update my post. Sorry for the delay. We finally moved into our new house. We'll be sending out our new address soon. We have cable, but no internet service. It's gotten very warm here - it's awesome. We are within
walking distance from the beach and scoot over there after dinner every other night. Jessica loves the sand, especially throwing it at Daddy:-) We love our new house and the new start we've made up here. Everything is going great!! I have so many pictures to share, I'm going to try and get the Flicker thing going. Give me some time to figure it out. Talk to you all soon!!!

Hi Everyone!! Sorry it's been so long. We still don't have internet. I'll give you the quick low down...Our jobs are going great. Everything has worked out great!! We are were supposed to close on our house next Friday, but that got put off. Maybe it was a sign we shouldn't be closing on Friday the 13th, haha. But it will be soon. We can't wait!!!!!! We've been wooped with snow. The last storm, this past Wed/Thurs left us powerless for 36 hours and it's supposed to snow again next Thursday. Welcome to Maine!
Jessica is doing great!!! We love more everyday!! She's doing great in school! Daddy isn't happy, but she has a boyfriend at school named Erik. He's adorable. Anyway, things are going well. We can't wait to get settled. I'll update when we have internet again!

Many of you may or may not know, but Jessica is having a minor
procedure done on Wednesday. She was born with a blocked tear
duct. With some kids it unblocks itself, and others do not.
Jessica's didn't and it's time to correct it. So, Wednesday
morning at 9:15 Jessi will be in surgery. David and I are
happy because if won't look like she's crying all the time.
She is such a happy kid, after Wednesday she'll look like it
too. Keep us in mind. She doesn't even know what's going on
yet. I should have them pierce her ears while she's out. Hmmm,
good idea.

Jessica Turned One!! It was a great day. She still isn't done opening presents, it was very overwelming for her. Jessi did enjoy her ice cream cake!! It made her hands
very cold - haha. It's 8:30 a.m. here and she and daddy are still in bed, we pooped them out.
The day was amazing for me too. I was kinda in a fog, I had a baby a year ago. It is a surreal experience. I still can't believe it. I remember the entire day of her birth. And each day since. Jessica is a total blessing, God is good. We love her more than anything and I look forward to each and every day of our lives together.

Today is the Big #1!!!!

Okay, well, it's Thursday night, but I'm being proactive. My baby girl is 1.
This has been the most life changing and an amazing day-to-day year. David
and I have both learned more about ourselves and about being parents. We've
only learned a grain of sand from the beach at this point.
One thing is for sure, Jessica is one spoiled first child. We've bought her everything!! We needed new toys anyway. I'll update with some pictures of her birthday weekend!!
I'm posting some pictures from our spurn of the moment trip to Maine last weekend. It was beautiful. We took some pictures on the beach, you may see one of them later on in our Christmas picture, but act surprised:-)

Gotta love Teacher's Convention. I'm conventioning at home with my daughter. She's been a bit under the weather and trying mommy's patience. Jessi has her first real cold, which isn't too bad for being almost 1 (yes 1-can't believe it). We decided to go out today and do some pre-birthday shopping and she SCREAMED the entire way home from the store. So it's nap time and I can collect myself. I am still amazed by her every move!! And love her more then anything!!

I know I may be annoying with all my comments about my kid.
But it's just because I love you so much!!! This kid amazes
me each and every day. She will be 1 in just under a month
and she is already so smart and has such a sense of humor.
Besides being mesmerized by her each and every day, I've
never known love like this before. Isn't that a song?

Peanuts first Halloween. Isn't it just fitting that she be a peanut??
We had a great time trick or treating. Actually, Jessica enjoyed playing
with peoples decorations more then getting candy. She started to get it towards
the end. She's pooped and so are we. I finally got some pictures back on

SO, I had one of my first "I'm getting OLD" moments today.
I was walking into school and this little girl, now in 6th grade,
walked up to me and called my Ms. Dellett. I haven't been
Ms. Dellett in 3.5 years. It turns out I was her 1st grade teacher
when I worked in East Orange. I didn't recognize her at first,
she's huge! But I'm digging deep and I think I remember her.
This is just the beginning of my old age. 30 will hurt in January.
And Katie - don't worry, you are only 6 months behind me!!!!

Kat and I did some touristy stuff. A few days before the storm we went to the most southern point of the continental U.S. The Weather Channel was there setting up shop for the hurricane. One night I took Kat to her first Drag Show, what fun. She got really excited when we took pictures!!

It's been a while. Kat, Peanut and I had a great time in Key West. We did almost everything. We were exhausted every day. Kat and I didn't get as much sun as we would have liked! We were do busy being tourists and then Ernesto came to town and blew out the sun the last two days of our trip. Adding insult to injury, Ernesto followed us home, it rained ALL labor day weekend. Anyway, we had a blast. Peanut got some sun and played with Kayco (Grama's new doggie), she loves her. Schools back in session. Love paychecks!! The pictures are of Peanut at the Butterfly Conservatory. She had a blast!

We are back from Maine and just hanging out. Peanut and I go to the pool here and there. She LOVES to swim. I'm posting a few pictures - one of my kid just looking cute, one of her loving the pool and one of the three of us. We are heading to Key West in a week or so with cousin Kathy, we ALL can't wait to go away! Kat and I are a little worried about the plane ride, but whatever. All these people that mess up things for the rest of us, well they need some hard core prayer or just a good old swift kick in the bum! I'm not thinking about this but school starts soon - AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! Hi Katie, I'm trying to get to this more for you! Miss you & Love you!!
